  • …and many more options

Health communications

As highly trusted messengers, it is increasingly important that HCPs play an active role in disseminating accurate, timely, and evidence-based health information. When coordinated, HCPs have the power to counteract misinformation on important health topics including vaccines, maternal health, mental health, opioids and stimulants, and many other topics where misinformation can lead to harm and further strain on an overburdened health system.

Health Defend empowers HCPs, equipping them with strategic talking points and shareable resources on a wide range of topics, and provides guidance on how to respond to trending misinformation. Calls-to-action unify communication activities so that HCPs are saying the same thing at the same time, which amplifies facts and combats confusion and misinformation.

The science and art of health communication is complex, but Health Defend draws upon the expertise of organizations who do this work routinely in partnership with CDC, state and local health departments, large foundations, hospital systems, and health insurers. Ultimately, HCPs decide what they are comfortable saying, but they can rest assured that Health Defend provides them with the best facts and messages available anywhere.

Reputation management

HCPs and businesses in the healthcare space are under increasing public scrutiny and at greater risk than ever from coordinated online attacks. Cultural and technology-related shifts are challenging healthcare businesses and personnel, creating a need for more data-driven and community-led approaches to reputation management.

Health Defend provides healthcare organizations and their clinical staff with two critical services to monitor and respond to situations that present risks to personal and professional reputations:

  1. Always on monitoring: PGP’s media monitoring tools can track key online accounts, keywords, hashtags, and many other variables 24 hours a day. This allows us to identify any unusual and potentially damaging activity to help you get ahead of the issue.

  2. Crisis communications support: The Health Defend support team is designed to work with your in-house and external communications teams during active situations. We bring public health expertise and data to strengthen your team’s response. We can support your existing teams with:

    • Crisis planning and preparation

    • Crisis response

    • Reputation recovery
